Some weekends are packed with plans, while others are more relaxed, and this one definitely fell into the latter category. But honestly, I didn’t mind. A quiet weekend every now and then is a good way to reset.
Saturday started early, as it usually does. After a long, hot bath to ease into the day, I had my first meal—fresh strawberries and an apple. In the afternoon, my dad and I went to the local pub for a bit, and while we were there, we ran into a couple of my second cousins. It was nice to catch up over a drink before I eventually headed home for a quiet evening. Sunday followed a similar easygoing pace, though I like to make sure I do at least one productive thing before settling in for the night. The morning began with my usual routine—creatine and a pint of iced water, followed by a black coffee. There’s something about starting the day with that combination that just feels right. I then got on with my productive task for the day, changing my bedding (which always feels great on a Sunday) and giving the house a thorough hoover. For my first meal, I had a mix of fresh fruit—two apples, a banana, and a kiwi—before spending part of the afternoon planning out some blog posts for next week. Afterwards, I watched a couple of episodes of Suits. It’s been years since I last watched it, and I’m enjoying the rewatch. Later in the day, I decided to try making a proper homemade cottage pie for the first time. I’ve made similar dishes in the past, but never a traditional one from scratch. I wasn’t sure how it would turn out, but I have to say, it was perfect—rich, hearty, and exactly what I needed for a Sunday evening meal. After resetting the kitchen for the night, I’m now winding down and deciding on a film to watch. I’ve got a few on my watchlist that I’ve been meaning to get around to, so I might finally tick one off. All in all, it’s been a slow but enjoyable weekend—nothing too eventful, but a nice way to recharge. I hope everyone’s had a great weekend and has a good week ahead. Comments are closed.
