Yesterday was the first biker night of the year at my local pub, so my dad and I headed there for a couple of hours. The nicer weather finally seems to have arrived, though I’m not sure how long it will last. It was good to get out for a bit, enjoy the atmosphere, and see all the bikes lined up again after the winter months.
Today, being Thursday, was my usual shopping day. It was a bit of a swings-and-roundabouts situation when it came to spending. I normally spend between £50 and £75 in Home Bargains but only spent £30 today. However, in Sainsbury’s, where I usually spend around £35, I ended up spending £75. So overall, it balanced out to about the same as most weeks. One unexpected bonus today was that my mom gave me a slow cooker she’s had boxed up for a few years but never used. I’ve never cooked with a slow cooker before, but I’ve always loved beef stew—it was one of my favourite meals as a kid. So, I picked up everything I needed to make one: sweet potato, white potato, parsnips, Chantenay carrots, a red onion, two stock pots, and some diced beef that I browned before adding to the slow cooker. I wasn’t sure how it would turn out, but I had a good feeling about it. While I was out shopping, I also picked up a bouquet of flowers for my mom since it's Mother's Day on Sunday. I also grabbed a card and some Robux for my youngest brother—he’s turning 16 in a week or so, and since he’s into gaming, I figured it would be a gift he’d actually use. It’s hard to believe he’s already 16; time really does fly. Once I’d unpacked my shopping, I had my creatine and protein shake before getting into my Thursday workout. Today’s session consisted of sit-ups, squats, deadlifts, and leg extensions. My new wired headphones arrived just in time, so I used them during my workout. I usually listen to music with my Bluetooth headphones, but the sound quality has never been great. Wired headphones just seem to deliver a better, fuller sound, so I’m happy with them. This evening, I finally got to try my stew—and it turned out amazing. That will be my lunch as well for the next few days, judging by how much I made. It’s definitely something I’ll be making again. Tonight, I’m planning on watching Mufasa, which has just come out on Disney+. A good way to end a productive day. Comments are closed.
