Somehow, I’ve not posted a blog since Friday, which is unusual for me. I suppose the weekend just got away from me.
Saturday was pretty standard and spent at home, nothing too eventful. Then came Easter Sunday, and I cooked a roast dinner for me, my dad, and my daughter. I didn’t go for the traditional lamb this year—instead, I’d bought a huge joint of beef. We had it with mashed potato, Yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes, carrots, broccoli, cabbage and runner beans. It was good—really good, actually. One of those meals where everything comes together just right. Once dinner was eaten and I’d reset the kitchen, me and my dad headed to the local pub for a few hours. The sun was out—rare for this time of year—so it was nice to make the most of it while it lasted. Today, Easter Monday, started on a more sombre note. I woke up to the news that the Pope had died. It feels oddly fitting, somehow, that it happened today. Very sad for Catholics around the world. I didn’t do my home workout today. Something’s happened to my left knee over the weekend—I’ve no idea what, I haven’t knocked it or twisted it or anything like that—but it’s been really painful, even when resting. So I decided to be sensible and skip training today. Hopefully by tomorrow it’ll be back to normal. My first meal of the day was two scrambled eggs, followed by some fresh strawberries. Later in the afternoon, I got stuck into a bit of cleaning and got a few jobs done around the house before starting dinner. This evening I had beef mince with sweet potato mash and green beans—simple and satisfying. And that’s about it, really. My Easter weekend in a nutshell. Comments are closed.
