The absence of a well-defined plan made it difficult to stay motivated and focused on my goals. However, a glimmer of hope appeared when I stumbled upon a 30-day workout challenge online that exclusively utilised dumbbells. In this blog post, I will share my experience with this challenge and how it brought much-needed structure to my workouts.

The Challenge:

​The IRONBORN program is a 30-day fitness regimen that focuses on strength training using dumbbells. Its primary goal is to enhance muscle definition. Each day of the program targets a specific area of the body, including shoulders, chest and triceps, back and biceps, as well as legs and abs. The intensity of the workouts can be adjusted by selecting dumbbells of different weights.

To begin the program, it is recommended to choose a pair of dumbbells that allow you to comfortably perform 20 alternating bicep curls (10 curls per arm). Men are advised to start with around 7 ½ kg (16 lb) per dumbbell, while women should aim for approximately 5 kg (11 lb) per dumbbell.

The IRONBORN program employs a traditional strength training approach where each exercise is performed individually until the muscles reach a state of fatigue. This approach aims to challenge the muscles and gradually increase strength and muscle definition over the course of 30 days.

Each session of the IRONBORN program should take no more than 20 minutes, making it convenient to incorporate into your daily routine. It is crucial to maintain proper form and technique during the exercises to prevent injuries and optimize the benefits of the program.
