Today started early — I was up at 6am to see my daughter off to college for her 7:30am bus. Once she’d left, I cracked on with a few bits I needed to get done, and then got into my home workout. Fridays are my “bit of everything” day when it comes to exercise.
Today also marks a full week of following my new workout routine, and honestly, I’ve really enjoyed it. It’s been much more manageable focusing on just three exercises a day, and across the week I’ve hit all the major muscle groups. Sometimes, less really is more — especially when it comes to training at home. After my workout, I got stuck into some house jobs to get everything freshened up for the weekend. I did my usual bits like hoovering and giving the kitchen a good clean, but I also made time to wipe down all the doors with hot soapy water. It’s not something I do every week, but it’s one of those jobs I like to stay on top of. After that, I jumped in the bath and then gave the bathroom a quick clean too. Once everything was sorted, I was more than ready to eat. I had some beef chilli kebabs with mini cucumbers and a bit of vintage cheese — a combination that probably sounds odd to some people, but it works. After that I finished off the strawberries I bought yesterday. With everything done for the day, I settled down in the afternoon to watch a film I haven’t seen since I was a kid — Blank Check on Disney. It used to be one of my favourites growing up, and while it wasn’t quite as amazing as I remembered, it still brought back a lot of good memories. Speaking of TV, I also started watching Good American Family on Disney. It’s been out a while in the US and I’d seen a lot of decent reviews floating around, so now that it’s finally landed on UK screens I thought I’d give it a go. They released five episodes at once and then it's one a week on Wednesdays, so I’m guessing it’ll be a fairly long series. I’m three episodes in and really liking it so far. Back to today — for my evening meal I had one of my go-to favourites: sweet potato mash, rib-eye steak and broccoli. As I’m writing this, I’m just waiting for my daughter to get home. She went to a local food festival after college so she’s probably already eaten, but I’ll see if she’s hungry when she gets in and make her something if she fancies it. That’s it for my Friday. I hope everyone has a lovely weekend — whether you’ve got plans or you’re just taking it easy. Comments are closed.
