No blog post yesterday—because, well, I just didn’t get round to it. It was Wednesday, which around here means biker night at my local pub. Most days in summer it’s busy with bikers, but Wednesdays are the official meet-up, so it’s always packed.
Me, my daughter, and my dad headed down for a couple of hours, and one of my uncles met us there too. The sun’s been making an appearance in the UK this week, and everything just feels better for it. The pub always has a decent atmosphere, but it’s especially nice when you can actually sit outside without freezing to death. Today, being Thursday, was my usual shopping day. My daughter was off college, so she came along with me and my mom. With half-term starting after tomorrow, she’ll be off for two weeks, so I had to stock up on extra snacks and bits to see her through. I ended up spending around £160 across Sainsbury’s and Home Bargains. I stuck to my usual food shop—steaks, beef mince, meatballs, beef chilli kebabs (basically all the beef), loads of sweet potatoes, and plenty of fruit and veg. I’ve noticed lately I’ve gone completely off pork and chicken, and I haven’t bought lamb in months either. So, at this point, I’m basically just eating beef, which I’m more than fine with—there’s loads of variety, and I’ve found some favourites that I keep going back to. Once I was home and everything was unpacked, I got on with my workout for the day. It was a shoulder and arms focus—shoulder press, bicep curls, and lateral raises. Solid session, and tomorrow will be my last one of the week before I take a break over the weekend. Post-workout, I had a pack of Swedish-style meatballs (26g of protein, not bad at all), followed by an apple and some blueberries. For my evening meal, I had my new obsession—beef mince mixed with sweet potato mash and red onion. I think I mentioned it last week, but I genuinely can’t get enough of that combo at the moment. Tonight I’m planning on winding down with either a decent film or some YouTube. That’s about it from me today—pretty standard Thursday, really, but in a good way. Comments are closed.
