Well, yesterday didn’t end up being my usual shopping day like it normally is on Thursdays. My Mom was busy, so instead, we decided to go food shopping today. It feels like another week has flown by already. I don’t have any plans for the weekend, though I’ll probably catch up with my dad at some point, like I usually do.
This morning, I was up at 6am to see my daughter off to college. I managed to squeeze in a quick 30-minute workout focusing on biceps and back, just a simple home session before getting on with the rest of the day. After a bath, I was out of the house by 10am to head to the shops with my Mom. Every week, I tell myself I’m not going to buy too much, but somehow, I always end up spending more than £100. At least the cupboards are well-stocked for the week ahead. This time around, I made sure to grab plenty of fruit—something I’ve really been craving lately for some reason. I also picked up all my daughter’s favourite foods and snacks that she likes to take to college, along with a few little treats to surprise her when she gets home. It’s become a bit of a habit of mine to get her a few nice things while I’m out shopping. This week, I grabbed a face mask and a hot chocolate melt, as well as a few other small bits. It’s a nice way to welcome her home after a week at college, and she always appreciates the little surprises. After we got back from the shops, I threw on my comfy clothes and relaxed for a bit, spending some time playing Xbox. Lately, I’ve been hooked on House Flipper. It’s such a chilled, relaxing game, and I find it’s a good way to switch off for a while. Right now, I’m in the middle of making a homemade chicken curry. It’s not exactly in line with my usual whole-food diet, but since I stick to a 90/10 rule, I don’t mind a little deviation now and again, especially since it’s the weekend. Once the curry’s finished cooking, I’m planning to settle down for the evening and watch something Halloween-themed. I’m leaning towards a 90s film like Beetlejuice or The Addams Family. There’s something about those nostalgic films that fits perfectly with the cosy autumn nights we’re having. Comments are closed.
