A Tuesday in December

Today started early, as I wanted to get my home workout done first thing. Since it’s Tuesday, my routine focused on lower body exercises. The morning was particularly cold, but I soon warmed up during my session and treated myself to a warm bath afterward. While soaking, I spent some time reading, which always helps set a positive tone for the day.

For breakfast, I stuck to my recent go-to: soft boiled eggs with toast. It’s been a staple for me all week, and I’ve really been enjoying it. Later, I had a bowl of fresh fruit—strawberries, blueberries, mango, and pineapple—paired with a dollop of natural Greek yoghurt. It’s a refreshing and healthy way to keep my energy levels up. Tonight, I’m planning on pork chops, sweet potato, and green beans for my evening meal, a balanced and satisfying end to the day.

On the entertainment front, I’m planning to revisit Land Man on Paramount Plus. I watched the first couple of episodes when the series initially aired but didn’t quite get into it at the time. However, with all the great reviews it’s been receiving, I’m giving it another go.

Yesterday brought some relief as my delayed Evri parcel finally arrived, and I also received confirmation that my TikTok orders are on their way. Hopefully, they’ll turn up tomorrow, just in time for Christmas preparations. Speaking of Christmas, I’m officially done with my shopping. Everything is sorted for those I buy for, with just the final task of withdrawing cash for my youngest two siblings’ cards. It feels good to be organised, although it’s hard to believe there are only 15 days left until the big day. It doesn’t quite feel festive yet, but maybe that’ll change as the days go on.

The last few nights, I’ve opted for early bedtimes, watching TV from the comfort of my room. Over the past few days, I’ve felt a bit lower than usual—a familiar trough of living with depression. However, I’ve learned to be kind to myself during these periods, reminding myself that these feelings will pass. It’s a comforting thought that helps me get through.

As I sign off to prepare my evening meal, I’m looking forward to sharing a non-journal style blog post tomorrow. And on Thursday, I’ll return with another journal update after my usual food shopping trip. Until then, stay well, and thanks for reading!
