It’s been a few days since my last post, and the weekend was full of family time, some unexpected moments, and a little bit of downtime to recharge. On Saturday, we celebrated my daughter’s birthday with a meal at a lovely pub/restaurant. It was great to catch up with my parents and siblings, and the food was delicious. I went for the mixed grill, which turned out to be a huge meal, but I managed it all since I hadn’t eaten much during the day. My daughter loved her birthday cake, though we did have a bit of an awkward moment when the waitress brought out the wrong one. She came out with candles lit, singing “Happy Birthday,” and I realised the cake wasn’t the one I’d bought! After a quick word, she found the correct one, and we all had a laugh about it. Mistakes happen, and it didn’t dampen the celebration at all.
After a lovely evening, we headed back home, and I decided to start a new Netflix series called Territory. It’s a bit like Yellowstone, but instead of being set in the American West, it’s based in Australia. I’m really enjoying it and have a few episodes to catch up on today. Sunday was a quiet day—just what I needed after a busy weekend. I caught up on the latest episodes of Daryl Dixon, then had an early night with some YouTube to unwind. Today, being Monday, I was up early for a bit of structure to start the week. I had my usual fruit to kick off the morning and then jumped straight into my upper body workout. I wanted to get my workout done early so the rest of the day would feel open. I haven’t had my first proper meal yet, so I’ll be having my go-to scrambled eggs and a bagel soon. My daughter is at the doctor this morning for her back, which has been bothering her. She’s been referred to a specialist to check if her hip could be causing the pain—hopefully, it’s nothing too serious, and we’ll have some answers soon. Once I wrap up this post, I’m planning to have a bath and then carve out an hour to get back into reading Gypsy Boy by Mikey Walsh. I’ve felt a bit distracted lately and haven’t had the willpower to really sit down and read, so I’m looking forward to taking that time today. Tonight, it’s pork chops for dinner again! I know it sounds repetitive, but I do actually have a fairly varied diet, I promise! Here’s to a calm start to the week and hopefully some good news from the doctor’s visit. Comments are closed.
