Over the past few weeks, I’ve had a few questions sent in via Instagram. Since I have my blog comments turned off, this is the best way for readers to reach out. Now that I’ve got a handful of questions, I thought I’d take the time to answer them here!
Where do you get the images for your blog? I get most of my images from a website called Pexels.com. It’s a fantastic resource for high-quality, royalty-free images that fit perfectly with my blog content. It’s free to use, and I’d highly recommend it to anyone looking for stock photos for their projects. Why don’t you ever mention eating chicken in your meals? I do like chicken... It’s just one of those foods that I sometimes go off for a bit. I tend to go through phases with certain foods, and right now, I’m not feeling particularly drawn to chicken. It’s nothing against it - I know it’s a great source of protein, and I’ll probably start eating it again at some point. Do you drink milk? No, I don’t drink any milk at all. I’ve cut it out of my diet entirely and don’t feel the need to include it. I get the nutrients I need from other sources, and I find it works well for me. Do you track calories and macros? No, I don’t track calories or macros anymore. I’ve done it in the past, and while it can be helpful for some people, I’ve found that listening to my body works best for me. I focus on eating whole, nutritious foods and making sure I feel full and satisfied rather than getting caught up in numbers. Do you watch much TV? I tend to only watch TV when I’m in bed. I’ve got quite a short attention span, so it takes a lot for a series to really grip me. Because of this, I usually end up either binge-watching a series I really like, or I’ll watch streamers if I’m feeling like my concentration isn’t great that day. I enjoy watching streamers who play games like DayZ, Medieval Dynasty, and GTA Online. Once I’m ready to wind down and actually sleep, I’ll switch to listening to an audiobook for about an hour. It gives my brain time to switch off from screen time, which I find really helps me relax. What books are you reading right now? I’m currently reading Gypsy Boy by Mikey Walsh, and I’ve just started reading Frankenstein by Mary Shelley, which was a Christmas gift from my mom. Although I know the basic plot, I’ve never actually read the book. I’m really looking forward to getting into it properly. Do you drink alcohol? I’ve actively cut down on drinking over the last 18 months, and even more so in the past six months. I do still enjoy the occasional pint at the pub with my dad once a week or every other week, but that’s about it. Almost cutting out drinking entirely was all part of a bigger plan for me. The first step was quitting smoking, which I did back in June, as I’ve mentioned in previous blogs. The second step was to severely limit alcohol. It just doesn’t fit with my lifestyle any longer, and I feel much better for it. Do you get nervous sharing personal things online? Not really. I’m quite an open person, and I find writing very therapeutic. That said, I do like to keep some things private. I think there’s a balance to be found between being authentic and maintaining a level of personal privacy. How do you stay motivated to blog? For me, blogging isn’t a chore; it’s something I genuinely enjoy doing. I love sharing my thoughts and experiences and connecting with readers. Of course, there are days when I feel less motivated, but I remind myself why I started this in the first place—to document my journey and, hopefully, inspire others along the way. That’s all for now. Thank you to everyone who sent in questions. If you’ve got any more, feel free to drop me a message on Instagram. I love connecting with my readers and hearing your thoughts.
