As I mentioned on Friday, I spent most of the day getting a head start on my spring cleaning. It’s always nice to freshen things up, and while I didn’t get everything done, I made a solid start. By the evening, I was more than ready to relax, so I sat down to play Avowed on Xbox.
I had actually preinstalled it ahead of release day, but I’d completely forgotten what day it was coming out. So when I turned my Xbox on and saw it had installed, it was a nice surprise. I’m about eight hours into the game so far, and I have to say—it’s pretty good. For those who don’t know, Avowed is an action RPG developed by Obsidian Entertainment, set in the same universe as Pillars of Eternity. It’s got that classic Obsidian feel, with deep role-playing elements, engaging combat, and a world full of choices that actually matter. While I don’t fully understand all of the lore just yet, I’m really enjoying the gameplay and atmosphere so far. On Saturday, I spent the afternoon at my local pub with my dad. While we were there, we ended up meeting my sister and her kids, which was a nice surprise. After a drink, we all decided to head back to mine and order a Chinese. The wait ended up being about an hour and a half, but it was a Saturday evening, and they did have to drive all the way out to the village, so I can’t really complain. It was well worth it once it arrived. My nephew has recently started getting into Pokémon cards, so I sorted him out with a folder I wasn’t using and picked out some cards to get his collection going. It’s always nice to see the next generation getting into something I remember enjoying myself. Today (Sunday) started early for me. I don’t usually work out on weekends, but I decided to fit in a short session before my day properly began. Lately, I’ve been trying to incorporate more stretching into my workouts, so I found a routine on YouTube and followed along. At some point this week, I’ll sit down properly and work some structured stretching into my existing five-day plan. After my workout, I had a bath and then sat down to plan some blog posts for the week ahead. By the time that was done, I was more than ready to eat. For my first meal of the day, I had three scrambled eggs, followed by some frozen blueberries. Later, for my evening meal, I had a sirloin steak with sweet potato mash and broccoli—simple but exactly what I was in the mood for. For the rest of the evening, I’ll either jump back into Avowed for an hour or finally start watching Reacher season three, since the first three episodes have just come out. That said, I can’t actually remember if I ever got around to watching the second season, so I might have to backtrack first! I hope everyone’s had a great weekend. Comments are closed.
