Tuesday, 4th March, and I’d completely forgotten to say happy March in my previous posts! Four days in already…
I woke up early this morning, thankfully without a headache for the first time in the past three or four days, which was a relief. My day started as it always does—with a coffee and a pint of iced water, followed by some fresh strawberries I bought yesterday. I really wish I lived near a strawberry farm; I’d eat them every day if I could. Unfortunately, I only go food shopping once a week, and the dates on supermarket strawberries are always terrible. They usually need eating within a day or two, so it’s pointless buying more than one punnet at a time. I had a few things to get done this morning, so I didn’t get around to my workout until about 11am. Since it’s Tuesday, my focus was lower body—goblet squats, leg extensions, and Romanian deadlifts. Leg day has never been my favourite, but as we all know, you can’t skip leg day. Once my workout was done, I had a fairly long bath and started a new book, The Gargoyle by Andrew Davidson. I picked it up a while ago in a charity shop but wanted to finish my other books before starting a new one. I’m not far enough in to form an opinion yet, but it seems pretty good so far. At the start of the year, I set myself a goal of reading or listening to 52 books—one per week. This is the 10th week of the year, and I’m well ahead of my goal. So far, I’ve read or listened to 18 books, so I’m on track to complete it. Audiobooks kind of feel like cheating, but I’m still counting them. At around 2pm, I had my first meal of the day—chicken thighs with a small salad. For the past month, I’ve mainly been eating beef and haven’t felt like anything else. Not for any particular reason, I just get funny with meat sometimes and stick to one thing. The chicken made a nice change, though. My salad was simple—cucumber and cherry tomatoes with a mint yoghurt dressing and some chia seeds sprinkled on top. I’ve never been a huge fan of salads, but I do love cucumber. Later in the afternoon, around 4pm, I went for a walk along the canal with my sister. She’s actively trying to be fitter, so I said I’d go with her. The canal is right outside my house, so it was easy enough to head straight out for an hour’s walk. It was nice to get some fresh air and chat, and the weather wasn’t too bad either. After my walk I sat down for an hour to plan some blog posts for later in the week, then spent a bit of time playing Football Manager. This evening, for my last meal of the day, I had rump steak with new potatoes for a change, and broccoli. It’s nearly 8pm now, so I’ll be heading to bed soon to watch a bit of YouTube before continuing with my current audiobook. A productive but steady day. Hope everyone had a good Tuesday!
