When Hogwarts Legacy launched a few months ago, it came with a hefty price tag that made me think twice about jumping in. Fortunately, I waited and snagged a second-hand copy from CEX for just £22.99. As someone who’s never been a massive Harry Potter fan, this game wasn’t initially on my radar. However, I’m glad I decided to give it a chance because it turned out to be a delightful surprise.
From the outset, the level of detail in Hogwarts Legacy impressed me. The game does an incredible job of immersing you in the magical world of Hogwarts, with beautifully crafted environments and an attention to detail that makes the experience truly enchanting. The developers have clearly put a lot of effort into creating a visually stunning and rich world that feels both authentic and expansive. While the game didn’t hook me immediately in the same way that titles like Red Dead Redemption 2 or Starfield did, it was remarkably close. It took me about a week to complete, and each session was engaging and filled with wonder. The storyline is compelling, and the quests are varied enough to keep you interested without feeling repetitive. One of the standout features is the vast array of outfit options. Customising your character and experimenting with different looks adds a fun and personal touch to the game. The variety in outfits and gear allows for a great deal of creative expression, which I really appreciated. The magic system and spellcasting mechanics are well-designed, offering a satisfying and immersive experience. Whether you're casting spells in combat or exploring the Hogwarts grounds, the controls are intuitive and responsive, making for an enjoyable gameplay experience. Overall, Hogwarts Legacy for the Xbox Series X exceeded my expectations. It’s a game that caters to both die-hard Harry Potter fans and newcomers like myself. With its impressive attention to detail, engaging gameplay, and extensive customisation options, I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a magical adventure. For the price I paid, it was an absolute steal and worth every penny. If you’re on the fence about diving into the wizarding world, I’d say it’s definitely worth a go. Comments are closed.
