Let's pause for a moment to reflect on my journey towards improved mental and physical health. Join me as I share the progress and challenges I've encountered. Let's kick things off with my physical fitness routine. I've been sticking to my home workouts like glue, ensuring I carve out time to focus on different muscle groups each session. Five days a week, you'll find me lifting weights and working up a sweat. However, I've got to admit, cardio has taken a backseat lately. With the weather improving, though, I'm looking forward to incorporating more outdoor activities into my routine. As for my diet, I've been toeing the line between a whole food approach and leaning towards a carnivore diet for that protein boost. Over the Christmas period, I made a conscious effort to shed some of the weight I'd gained during a bulk last summer. It wasn't easy, but I managed to drop 1.5 stone. Now, I'm focused on putting weight back on in a more mindful way, without resorting to the reckless eating habits of a dirty bulk. Now, let's dive into the realm of mental health. Lately, I've been feeling more stable, and I think a big part of that is down to the act of writing these blog posts. When I'm feeling low, the last thing I want to do is write, so the fact that I'm able to do it now is a positive sign. That being said, my mental health journey is still a rollercoaster. There are good days, bad days, and days where it feels like I'm barely hanging on. But I'm learning to celebrate the small victories along the way. Sleep remains a challenge, with persistent disturbances like night terrors and auditory hallucinations but I'm actively exploring strategies to improve sleep quality and promote restorative rest. In terms of medication, I'm still taking my prescribed mirtazapine, but I recently had a discussion with my doctor about the sleeping tablets I was prescribed. They weren't providing much relief, so we've decided to slowly wean off them and explore other options. Overall, it's been a journey of ups and downs, but I'm making progress and learning to prioritise my well-being. Thanks for joining me on this ride, and here's to brighter days ahead.
