Monday has come around again, and with it, a fresh start to the week. My Sunday was pretty relaxed overall. My dad dropped by to deliver my Christmas card and a wedding invite for one of my cousins’ weddings next March. It’s been about eight years since I’ve attended a wedding or even worn a suit, so I’ll need to think about what to get nearer the time. I’m not sure what kind of suit to go for, but I’ll probably browse Pinterest for some ideas when the time comes.
Today was an early start as I had a few tasks to tick off my list. Once that was sorted, I got into my Monday home workout, which focuses on upper body strength. Afterward, I decided to tackle a job that doesn’t need doing often but still needs attention now and then—cleaning the skirting boards. Armed with a scrubbing brush and some hot, soapy water, I spent a solid hour on my hands and knees getting them spotless. It’s definitely not my favourite chore, but it feels good knowing it’s done and won’t need doing again for a while. With the workout and cleaning behind me, I took a well-earned bath before sitting down to my first meal of the day: soft-boiled eggs and toast, my usual go-to breakfast. Once I’d eaten, I had a bit of free time to unwind and play some Xbox. My current favourite game is SnowRunner. It’s a challenging game, but despite the difficulty, it manages to feel relaxing. There’s something satisfying about getting lost in a game like that for a while. For my evening meal, it was another staple of mine—pork chops with green beans and sweet potato. Now that I’ve eaten, I’m planning an early night to catch the latest episode of Yellowstone. From what I’ve read, this could be the final ever episode of the show, though I’m not entirely sure. If it is, I have no idea how they’re going to wrap everything up in just one episode. Like much of this final season, I imagine it might feel a bit rushed, but I’ll see how it goes. I hope everyone has had a great Monday. Be sure to check back tomorrow for a non-journal style post. Comments are closed.
