Monday has rolled around again, and my weekend passed by quietly, as usual. I spent Friday at home, enjoying a relaxed evening. On Saturday, my dad, my sister, and I headed to my local pub for a few hours. While we were there, I sorted out a booking for my birthday meal at the end of the month, so that's something to look forward to.
Sunday was another quiet day. The temperatures have been absolutely freezing here lately, so I’ve been more than happy to stay warm indoors. I finished watching a series I’d been enjoying, Those About to Die. It’s set in Ancient Rome and follows the lives of gladiators, politicians, and everyday citizens. It kept me hooked right until the end with its gripping storylines and impressive world-building. I’m hoping they’ll release a second series soon. With that show done, I was on the lookout for something new. I gave Primeval America on Netflix a try last night, but it didn’t really capture my interest. I ended up turning it off and switching to YouTube, where I watched some gaming streams. That’s usually my go-to if I’m not feeling fully focused. Sometimes I’ll binge-watch a series that grabs me, but if I’m not in the right frame of mind, I prefer shorter content like streams or videos. This morning, I was up fairly early. After my usual black coffee, I got my workout in, which was upper body-focused today. Once that was done, I treated myself to a long bath before tackling some housework. I hoovered and mopped the floors in the kitchen and bathroom, which always makes the place feel fresher. My first meal of the day was a simple 3-egg omelette with ham and mushrooms. It’s a staple for me—quick, filling, and packed with protein. For tonight’s dinner, I’ve got pork chops with sweet potato mash and broccoli on the menu. I’ve cut out most carbs like bread, rice, pasta, and regular potatoes, but sweet potatoes make a nice occasional addition to meals. After dinner, I’m planning an early night. I’ll probably wind down with some more YouTube before switching to an audiobook to help me drift off. It’s been a steady weekend—nothing too exciting, but sometimes a quiet weekend is just what you need. Here’s to a good week ahead. Comments are closed.
