As a user of TikTok, I have been a part of the app's journey from its early days as a platform for short-form videos to its current position as a cultural phenomenon. However, recent developments, particularly the introduction of TikTok Shop, have left me feeling disappointed and disillusioned with the platform, to the point where I no longer use it.
TikTok Shop was introduced as a way for users to buy products directly from the app, without having to leave and visit another website. This new feature has sparked concerns about the app's original purpose, and has led to many users feeling frustrated and disillusioned. For me, the introduction of TikTok Shop has been a step too far. The app was originally designed to be a creative platform for users to express themselves and share content with others. However, with the introduction of TikTok Shop, the app has become increasingly commercialised, and it feels as though the focus has shifted from creative content to making money. What's more, there have been concerns about the quality and safety of products sold through TikTok Shop. Some users have reported receiving counterfeit or low-quality items, while others have had issues with the payment system. As a result, I have stopped using TikTok altogether. I believe that the app has lost its original purpose and has become too focused on commercial gain. Moreover, the introduction of TikTok Shop has left me feeling that the app is less authentic and less genuine than it used to be. In conclusion, I no longer use TikTok due to TikTok Shop. The introduction of this new feature has been a significant turning point for the app, and has led to a loss of trust among users. I believe that the app has become too commercialized, and that it has lost sight of its original purpose. While it remains to be seen whether TikTok can regain the trust of its users and remain a relevant platform in the years to come, for now, I have moved on to other social media platforms that offer a more authentic and less commercialised experience.
