This weekend has been all about staying indoors and keeping warm while the stormy UK weather wreaked havoc outside. The relentless wind and rain have made venturing out far from appealing. It’s been a weekend of calm inside while chaos unfolds outside—a contrast that’s been both grounding and oddly reflective.
Saturday was a day for staying in, partly because I was waiting for a delayed Evri delivery. It was originally meant to arrive on Friday, but with no updates and no sign of it by Sunday, I’ve resigned myself to the likelihood of further delays. While I can understand the weather playing a part, it’s frustrating not to receive any communication from the courier. Their chatbot hasn’t been much help, either. Add to that my TikTok orders, which I placed almost two weeks ago, and it’s a bit of a waiting game. Hopefully, everything will arrive in time for Christmas, but the radio silence is testing my patience. Since the weather kept me indoors, I used the opportunity to plan out future blog posts, indulge in good food, and watch Netflix. Saturday evening brought a bit of unexpected joy: I created a new TikTok page for sharing short gaming clips. Posting my first video last night, I woke up this morning to see it had reached 33,000 views—a lovely surprise that’s left me feeling quite motivated. Sunday started early, as it often does for me. Without a workout scheduled, I enjoyed a leisurely breakfast of soft-boiled eggs and toast. My dad came over for a couple of hours, which is always a highlight of the week. Normally, we’d pop to the pub for a quick drink, but the storm made that impossible. Instead, we stayed in, catching up and enjoying a slower pace of the day. I appreciate these small moments of connection—they’re a reminder to focus on what matters most. This afternoon, I plan to spend some time on the Xbox. Game Pass might have some new titles worth exploring, and it’s always nice to unwind with a good game. For dinner, I’ve got steak, broccoli, and sweet potato on the menu—a hearty meal that fits the wintry vibe of the day. The evening will likely be just as low-key, with some time spent browsing YouTube or catching up on entertainment before an early night. Reflecting on the weekend as a whole, it’s been a reminder of the simple pleasures that come from slowing down and staying present. The storm outside has served as a backdrop to a weekend focused on the comforts of home and the joy of creativity. If you haven’t already, take a moment to check out my recent blog posts—I’ve been on a bit of a roll with writing daily, and it’s been incredibly fulfilling. Here’s to staying warm, staying safe, and finding peace in the midst of the storm—both literally and metaphorically. I hope your weekend has been as restorative as mine has been. Comments are closed.
